Our Story

Legal Maths was founded with the goal of supporting and improving numerical literacy within the legal profession – an area that can often be overlooked. Following years of informally providing ad hoc assistance to lawyers around the UK, I wanted to create a dedicated platform for Excel and mathematical support that maintained a direct focus on the law, for lawyers.

My background as a mathematician and lawyer put me in a unique position to bridge this gap, and in 2025 I was able to formally launch Legal Maths.

Bio and Qualifications

I graduated from the University of Warwick with a first-class degree in Mathematics. Following graduation I worked in the financial sector with an accountancy firm in Leeds and then JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York, before switching careers and training in law. I am a qualified solicitor with a background in commercial and IP work, and more than eight years’ experience of providing mathematical and Excel support to law firms and professionals. I also hold a certification in Excel for Banking Professionals.
